It has been an exciting couple of weeks in the second semester. New exploratory and flex Friday classes have begun including Ski Bus, which made it to the slopes last Friday for the first time this season.
Coming up in February we will be holding a Middle School Information Night on Thursday, February 12 at 6:00 p.m. for prospective fifth grade families, including our current fourth grade families. We look forward to sharing more information with you about this event soon.
We also have a couple of assemblies scheduled for the Middle School in the spring. Jim Cogen, a story teller, and retired teacher and administrator, will be presenting an assembly on April 7 focused on character. On April 20 Stefanie Thomas, from the Seattle Police Department, will be presenting to our Middle School students on internet safety. More details to come!

Board of Trustees Town Hall: New Campus Update and Heading Home Kick-off
Join the Board of Trustees for an evening to learn about the Heading Home project, construction updates, and the capital campaign. The evening will include a light dinner, student performances, a presentation from Westside School trustees and administration, a video “fly-through” of the new campus plans, and more. Childcare is complimentary, and includes activities and dinner. We hope to have all Westside School parents in attendance!
The Westside School Fund wraps up!
THANK YOU to all the donors who helped make the Westside School Fund a success! Your support helped us exceed last year’s parent participation – we had an impressive 88% of Westside School parents participate in addition to 100% of our Faculty and Staff. With your support, we raised $209,000 towards our educational program.
While we were not able to secure any of the funds from our 100% challenge grant, we achieved increases in participation across all grade levels! Many classes finished at over 90%. Gifts and pledge payments will be accepted until the end of the school year.
The Lost and Found collection is at capacity, and we are asking all Westside School families to stop by and check for items belonging to your child(ren) between now and Friday, February 13. During the Mid-winter break, all remaining items will be collected and donated to a local charity. As a reminder, it is exceptionally helpful to write your child(ren)’s full name on all items of clothing, water bottles, backpacks, and lunch boxes.
1. Lost and Found is overflowing! Please collect any item(s) belonging to your child(ren) by Friday, February 13.
2. SAVE THE DATE!Thursday, February 5. The Westside School Board of Trustees Town Hall: New Campus Update and Heading Home kick off!
