Lower School students awed by The Daughter of the Regiment

Posted on

Westside School Lower School students were treated to an Opera performance this morning! N.O.I.S.E. (Northwest Opera In Schools, Etc.) presented Donizetti’s The Daughter of the Regiment to our pre-kindergarten through fourth grade students, much to their delight! This year’s performance is a warm and funny story of Marie, an orphan girl, who was raised by the French Army Regiment. It featured five trained opera singers, a wonderful pianist, sets, props, great music – and an easy to follow story line with time for questions and answers from the students at the end!

This year’s performance was generously donated to Westside School by The Bergman Family in memory of William Burke, the late grandfather of two of our first grade students.
