Students in third through eighth grades will be given the ERB/CTP4 standardized test during the week of September 28, 2015. The purpose of this assessment is to evaluate our program across grade levels and to give teachers specific information on each child so we can best support each academic need.
The ERB/CTP4 tests will be given in a regular classroom setting. However, special testing accommodations are available in order to help students with learning differences find greater success with these types of exams. If you would like to discuss accommodations for your child, please contact Richard Gawne (firstname.lastname@example.org.)
After School Enrichment Session I will be starting in early October. We’re offering seven fun classes that will run for eight weeks. Register here for Chess Wizards,Trendy Crafts, Astronaut Training 101, Piano/Keyboard Club, Beat Club, Art-Cycling, and Introduction to Rock Ensemble. Families with an active Extended Day contract on a day of an enrichment class they are enrolled in will receive a 25% discount. Please email Andrew DeLappe (email@example.com) for the discount code.
The beginning of school is an exciting time of year. It can also be exhausting for your child as they get used to being back at school. One of the best ways to connect and relax with your child is through reading. If you need a new picture books or chapter book to read with your child come into the Westside School Library! Parents are always welcome to check out books. Click here to learn more and access a few other resources for book ideas and reviews.
Girls On The Run
Registration is still open! If you have a daughter in third through fifth grade, check out this inspiring after school program, taking place Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. beginning October 5.
Over the ten week program, participants will explore and discuss the challenges girls face at this age. An appreciation for fitness and healthy living is developed through a structured running program, and the culminating experience is a celebratory 5K on December 12. Participants gain a wonderful sense of accomplishment and heightened confidence upon crossing the finish line! By incorporating physical activity, the Girls On The Run program supports complete emotional, social, and physical growth, and participants gain the skills needed to navigate life’s challenges.
Coaches Emily Gussin, Laura Anderson, and Lorin Skinner lead the program.
