What’s in a name

Posted on

Eighth grade students have recently published their first poems. Using the chapter “MyName” from The House on Mango Street as a source for inspiration, students researched and wrote the story of their name. Students were asked to use Cisneros’s descriptive style of writing as a model and to incorporate examples of alliteration, personification, similes or metaphors in their piece.
