Dear Westside School families,

What an amazing year 2015 was for Westside School. Thank you for being a part of this legacy – you will forever be among the families who can say, “we were there in the first year of the new school!” Thank you also for your patience and support as we have worked through our many first year logistics.

I am pleased to announce Darwin Nordin will be joining us as our new full-time Art Teacher in second through eighth grade for the remainder of the school year. You will be able to read a full bio of Darwin in tomorrow’s Insider newsletter to find out more about the wealth of experience he brings as an artist and a teacher. Many thanks to Colleen McCullagh, who stepped into the temporary position in November and did an excellent job. Colleen will still be with us throughout the month of January to work with Darwin and your children during the transition.

Finally, 2016 will bring some volunteer opportunities for parents as we prepare for our SPIRIT Auction Going Places, which will be held on March 19, 2016. Please join us at an introductory Auction Volunteer meeting on Wednesday, January 6, at 8:30 a.m. in the eighth grade Humanities classroom in the Middle School wing. This is open to ALL parents who have any amount of time or type of skills. No experience necessary! Please come! If you are unable to attend this meeting, we would still love your help. Click here to find out more and to sign up or if you have questions ahead of the meeting, contact Shoshannah (shoshannahh@westsideschool.org.)

We invite you to enjoy a slideshow of the incredible experiences we have shared thus far this year. On behalf of the faculty and staff of Westside School, I wish you and your family a very Happy New Year! We look forward to the return of your children tomorrow.

Best,

Kate Mulligan, Head of School
