Earth Day celebrations at Westside School

Posted on

In 1970, on the very  first Earth Day, first grade teacher Marsha Lovely’s high school Ecology class planted trees on her school campus in San Francisco. Today, Westside School first grade students are planting a tree on our new campus in honor of the 46th Earth Day.

The 2nd annual Middle School Trashion Fashion was held in celebration of Earth Day and each advisory brought the house down with their creative designs and use of recycled materials and trash! From cardboard to bottle caps, newpaper to foil, even old patio furniture covers to unwanted plastic, everyone pulled together to create a fun and earth-friendly event!

And fourth grade made our campus more beautiful this afternoon by working hard to pick up trash and pull weeds!
